Church Militant, Virgin Most Powerful Radio, and a Los Angeles based prayer group “Advocates for All Nations” have joined March for Faith to rally for a reopening of churches in Southern California.

The pro-faith groups will gather Sunday, December 20th, in front of the Los Angeles Cathedral to urge Archbishop Gomez to reopen all Catholic churches in time for Christmas.

Houses of worship have been locked down for ten months in California. His Eminence José Horacio Gómez, Archbishop of Los Angeles, is the head of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Catholic Church is the country’s largest church or religious denomination.

March for Faith urges the Archbishop to courageously reopen churches for Christmas Mass. The First Amendment specifically protects individuals’ free exercise of religion. The Supreme Court has stated that “even in a pandemic, the Constitution cannot be put away and forgotten,” especially when regulations “strike at the very heart of the First Amendment’s guarantee of religious liberty.”

In October, March for Faith protested the state’s disparate treatment of faith. Over a hundred people marched to Los Angeles City Hall in protest of the California’s pandemic regulations that demand people worship outside.
